A Message from Marsha McClellan, TYC Director

I opened The Yoga Connection more than 12 years ago, in 2002, with one simple goal in mind: to help others feel as good as yoga has made me feel. I never dreamed that so many incredible students and instructors would come through our doors. I have learned so much about life from each one of you and I feel very blessed that for so many years I was given the privilege of doing something I loved.

I officially closed the studio last March so that I might spend more time with my growing family, travel more and simply enjoy a more leisure life without worrying about a business. Yes, a yoga studio is a business. It is now time for me to begin writing the next chapters of my life.

My focus these days is on a Friday morning yoga class located at a separate location, corporate classes and the women’s retreats.

I truly hope each and every one of you has been able to continue with your practice. Remember, yoga is a way of life!

Our Mission

At The Yoga Connection we are committed to safely teaching hatha yoga to students at all levels and with varying needs or challenges. With compassion and care we guide students not just through the physical poses of yoga, but towards a mindful and authentic practice that shapes, supports and influences all aspects of their lives.

I signed up for the “Gentle Stretch” and “Yin Yoga” classes to strengthen my bones and improve my flexibility. After a year of weekly classes, not only am I moving more fluidly, but my bone density has significantly improved. Even my doctor was amazed.

I have been practicing yoga for more than 15 years and I feel very fortunate to have discovered TYC in 2005. It’s now my home studio, and not only do I continue to take classes, but I also teach classes as a newly graduated RYT! I am very proud to be a part of The Yoga Conncection “family.”

No one believes that I had a c-section because apparently I am getting around very well; I credit my yoga regimen to if not preparing me for the rigors of labor, getting my body in good condition to facilitate my recovery from major surgery.

The Yoga Connection is a serene studio and my first experience with yoga. I always come away from class with a sense of well-being, calm and comfort. Another plus is that my body is more flexible in just a few short months. Marsha’s yoga classes are something of a mind-altering and cleansing exercise that I’ve come to enjoy and look forward to.
